Margie Ann Young Holzhauer

Margie Ann Young Holzhauer of Gillett passed away August 12, 2024, in DeWitt. She was born February 17, 1929, in Stuttgart to the late Fred Christian and Anna Geotz Young. She was a graduate of DeWitt High School. Margie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was active in the ladies Dorcas Circle and enjoyed being a part of the Dorcas quilting group. She was involved in various church and school ministries while her children attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School. Margie loved gardening and canning. She was known for her pickle recipes and homemade sauerkraut. Above all else she loved her family more than anything. 

Margie was preceded in death by her husband Johnny of seventy-one years. She is survived by son Jody Holzhauer (Lynn) of Gillett, Donna Slay (Danny) of Conway, Gayle Womack (Randy), Sheila Dodson (Mike), and Nancy Whiting (Sammy) all of Gillett. Her grandchildren include Blake Holzhauer, Erin Simon, Dustin, Drew. and Nathan Slay, Jordan Gardner, Ryan Womack, Bryce Dodson, Mallory Sweetin, Austin and Barrett Whiting. She was blessed with nineteen great grandchildren.
