Shirley Nell Modlin Kirchoff

Shirley Nell Modlin Kirchoff, 78, of DeWitt passed away May 8, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born November 8, 1945, in White County, AR, to Delmer and Myrtle Ramsey Modlin.

While her children were young, Shirley was a stay at home mom. After her children had started school, Shirley worked in the housekeeping department at DeWitt City Hospital for 26 years. She was always a friendly face for the patients to see or to pass in the halls. Shirley was a member of First Assembly of God Church in DeWitt. She was a devoted mother and Nannie, and was known as Nannie to many, not just her own grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Glenn Kirchoff; son Brian Kirchoff; and sisters Freda Carr and Ruby Bennett.

She is survived by her children Timmy Kirchoff, Stachiah Strayhorn (John), and Heather Moser (Damon) all of DeWitt, and Tony Kirchoff (Becky) of Clarendon; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a special friend and caregiver Kim Robinson.

Funeral services were May 11 at First Assembly of God with burial in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens by Essex Funeral Home.
