Carol Joan (Jodie) Vasseur

Carol Joan (Jodie) Vasseur, age 76, of Houston passed away on March 15, 2024, in Joplin, MO. Carol was born on October 17, 1947, in Marshfield, MO, to Hubert “Dick” and Ruth L. (Quinn) Smith.

Carol graduated from Houston High School in 1965. She proudly served in the Women’s Army Corp (WAC). Carol married William Vasseur in 1976. They lived in DeWitt, AR, until William passed away in 2015. She worked in the dietary department at a nursing home for many years.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Alene; two brothers, William and Ralph; and two nephews, Mike and Ralph Jr. She is survived by seven nieces, Lisa, Marie, Amy, Andrea, Katy, Lori, and Cayla; one nephew, James; her “partners in crime,” Linda and Loretta; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
