“Pilgrim Reflections” - “If There Ever Was A Time”

May 31, 2023

Yes, if there was ever a time, it’s now.

“For what?” you may ask.

“For red-blooded, God-fearing, freedom-loving Americans to stand up and be counted in all the craziness that’s going on around us,” comes the reply.

This past Monday our nation paid their respects to all those who gave their lives defending the freedoms we all enjoy and hold dear.

Even though Memorial Day can be traced back to the end of the Civil War and a remembering of the over half-million who died in it, in subsequent years it began focusing on all those who lost their lives in combat.

This includes the following:

*Revolutionary War (1775-83)—25,000

*Barbary Wars (1801-1805, 1815)—45

*War of 1812 (1812-1814)—20,000

*Mexican-American War (1846-1848)—13,283

*Civil War (1861-1865)—625,000

*Spanish-American War (1898)—2,446

*World War I (1917-1918)—116,516

*World War II (1941-1945)—405,399

*Korean War (1950-1953)—36,516

*Vietnam War (1955-1975)—58,209

*Persian Gulf War (1990-1991)—258

*Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan (2001-2014)—2,356

*Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-2012)—4,489

That adds up to 1,309,517 men and women who gave their lives that we might be free; but, we must wonder if they’d question their sacrifices if they could see what’s happened in America in the past 30 years.

Yes, do we honestly think those who fought for our independence in the Revolutionary War ever envisioned a day when some today would claim they did it to promote slavery?

Likewise, did the ones who shed their blood in the bloody trenches of World War I. . .or gave their lives on the beaches of Normandy. . .or died in the mountains and snow storms of Korea. . .or the hot-and-humid, hellish jungles of Vietnam . . .or the hot, desert sands of Afghanistan and Iraq. . .would have believed that a Supreme Court justice can’t define who a woman is. . .or long-banned sodomy would be legalized. . .along with the wholesale slaughter of 63+ million babies in the womb?

Have we strayed so far from God that we think He somehow messed up with He created males and females, giving each one unique DNA? Could it be He’s turned our nation over to a “reprobate mind that calls ‘good’ evil and ‘evil’ good” (Romans 1:18-32)?

Yes, I must believe those 1.3 million men-and-women-in-arms who paid the ultimate sacrifice would literally turn over in their graves if they see what America’s become.

That’s why those of us still living—who believe that “right is right and wrong is wrong”—can ill-afford to sit by and do nothing. This isn’t a call for an armed insurrection; but, it is a call “for all good men and women to come to the aid of their country.”

It’s time for pulpits to no longer be silent or afraid to call sin “sin”. . .to call sinners to repentance. . .and warn of God’s coming Judgment. Likewise, it’s time for all true Americans to demand their senators and representatives in Washington to do their jobs and stop the destruction of America from within.

Yes, dear Readers, America is still the “home of the free and the brave”—not the complacent and apathetic. If there was ever a time to quit complaining and do something, it’s now.

Therefore, get on the phone and call your Congressmen and women and say “Enough is enough!!” The hour is now and that person is you!!

If you truly love America and don’t want those 1.3 million patriots to have died in vain, then do something—and pray like you’ve never prayed before. The Hour is late!!
