Stuttgart Lady Ricebirds Stymied By Baptist Prep

Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds couldn't keep up with Baptist Prep Varsity Eagles and fell 9-1 on Friday..

Avery Hampton led things off in the circle for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. The righty allowed three hits and four runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking two.

Lily Griffin and Hali Watkins each collected two hits for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds.

Stuttgart Lady Ricebirds built a 5-run lead in the sixth inning and then held off Trumann Varsity Lady Wildcats's charge for a 9-7 victory on Thursday. 

Kaci Cline grounded out, which helped Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds tie the game at one.

Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a wild pitch, and a double by Avery Hampton.

Shiloh O’Neal flew out, which helped Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds tie the game at four in the bottom of the fourth.

Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 9-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Lily Griffin that drove in two.

     Hali Watkins pitched five innings in relief for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. The reliever gave up four hits and six runs (three earned) while, striking out four and walking two. Hampton stepped in the circle first for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. The pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over two innings, striking out none and walking none.

Cline and Hampton each collected two hits for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. Griffin and Cline each drove in two runs for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds.

Second Game-

MyKayla Hale collected four hits in four at bats, as Stuttgart Varsity Lady Ricebirds defeated Trumann Varsity Lady Wildcats 9-5 on Thursday. Hale singled in the sixth inning, singled in the fourth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning.

Stuttgart Varsity Lady Ricebirds got on the board in the top of the second inning after Bethany Woodell laid down a sacrifice bunt, Kaci Cline singled to center field, Trumann Varsity Lady Wildcats committed an error, and Hadlee Currie singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Hali Watkins pitched four innings in relief for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. The reliever surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) while striking out two and walking two. Avery Hampton opened the game for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. The right-handed pitcher gave up five hits and three runs over three innings, striking out one and walking none. 

Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds amassed 15 hits in the game. Hale and Currie each collected four hits for Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds. Lily Griffin and Lynnleigh Hosman each collected multiple hits for Stuttgart .
