Diamond Birds Have a Better Week

Game 1
Stuttgart 21  Forrest City 0
     Stuttgart took the lead and never looked back.  It took only two innings for the Birds to defeat Forrest City 21-0.  Stuttgart hitters had fun at the plate with seniors Harper Feilke and Hayden Prine and Junior Beau Barnes recording 2 hits each.
     Dagan Duncan, Taylin Hayden, Hudson Caver, and Jay Griffin singled.
Multiple RBI’s were produced by
JT Bogy, Austin Fontenot, Feilke, Barnes, Duncan, Hayden, Prine, Caver and Griffin. Hayden Prine, Senior pitcher struck out five and gave up one hit before the game was called.
Game 2
Stuttgart 15 Forrest City 0
     Hayden Prine continued on the bump for Stuttgart.  The hurler pitched no hit, no walk, no run baseball while striking out six in three innings.
     Kiptyn Carey and Hudson Carver singled with multiple Birds running the bases due to walks. Senior Austin Fontenot, Carey, Hayden, and Carver distributed RBI’s to secure the conference win.
Game 3
Stuttgart 13  Star City 5
     Senior southpaw, Dagan Duncan had another stellar performance on the mound for the Diamond Birds.
Duncan started on the bump and pitched five innings.  He struck out ten batters, allowed three hits and one earned run.  Junior, Axton McCrea relieved Duncan striking out 3 and giving way to one earned run to secure the win.
     The bats came alive for the Stuttgart hitters who recorded 15 hits against the Bulldogs.
Senior Harper Feilke was 3 for 5 at the plate with a double, two singles and an RBI to lead the Diamond Birds offensively.
     Dagan Duncan, Hayden Prine,
 Beau Barnes and Jay Griffin finished with 2 hits each and multiple RBI’s.  Cameron Rodgers, Austin Fontenot, and Brilon Hogan each recorded hits.
     The Diamond Birds are at home , Thursday , April 9 vs conference foe Trumann.   Come out and support the Birds. First pitch is at 5 pm.
