Rice Husks Are Valuable Materials

by John Lovett

Although rice husks are abundant in Arkansas, where nearly half of the rice in the U.S. is grown, this byproduct of rice milling has a low value due to its limited uses. Ali Ubeyitogullari, an Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station scientist, will present a free webinar on March 18 to share insights on how his team is turning rice husks into biodegradable materials to help create new market opportunities for rice producers.
“Transforming Worthless Rice Husks Into Valuable Materials” will be offered online at 11 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, March 18, by the Arkansas Research Alliance in association with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
Registration is free and available online. Read more at https://bit.ly/Transforming-Rice-Husks-Into-Valuable-Materials.
