Stuttgart Diamond Bird Baseball

GameChanger Summary - Game 1
     The Stuttgart Ricebird baseball team  opened their season on
Monday , March 2 with a 12-2 run rule victory over Heber Springs. Sophomore pitcher, Nathan Spoon struck out nine while  earning the win.
     The Diamond Birds recorded 11 hits. Austin Fontenot, Cameron Rodgers, Dagan Duncan, Hayden Prine, Beau Barnes, and Axton McCrea each had doubles. Barnes lead with 3 RBI’s.

Game Changer Summary Game 2
     Tuesday, March 3, 2026 brought another win for the Diamond Birds. 
Pitchers Dagan Duncan, senior and  Axton McCrea, junior were a double threat on the mound.  The pitching combo shut out the Warren Lumberjacks.    Duncan earned the win for the Ricebirds by striking out 7 and allowing 2 hits.
     McCrea went 2 for 3 at the plate.
     Jay Griffin, Duncan, and McCrea each recorded RBI’s while Fontenot and Prine hit doubles.

Game Changer Summary -Game 3
     Thursday, March 5 , the third game of the week for the Birds, brought a 3-4 loss in extra innings against the DeWitt Dragons. Strikeouts and errors hampered the Birds as 3 of DeWitt’s runs were unearned. 
     Senior Hayden Prine was stellar on the mound as he struck out 11 while allowing 6 hits and 1 earned run.  The Birds out hit the Dragons 7 to 6.
     Dagan Duncan, Beau Barnes, and Jay Griffin each collected 2 hits each.
The Stuttgart Diamond Birds are back in action this week in Monticello.
