DeWitt Dragons Golf Win Tournament and Ryder Cup Stuttgart Ricebirdettes Win Tournament and Ryder Cup
The Dewitt golf teams hosted an 18 hole tournament for area teams such as Stuttgart, Carlisle, and Hazen at Oak Hills Country Club last Tuesday. After 18 holes of competition, the Dewitt Dragon boys team came out on top leading their next opponent by 10 strokes. The team consisted of Cannon Craig, Sammy Hill, Sam Jones, and Wiley Whitmore.
The Stuttgart Ricebird girls team came out on top, leading second place by 11 strokes. The team consisted of Ella Jackson, Bella Jessup, Nadia Saranie, and Hadlee Currie..
The low score for the boys division was Bradley Benton of Stuttgart. The low score for the girls division was Ella Jackson from Stuttgart.
The Lady Dragonettes came in second place, with the best score led by Mackie Hearn. The Dragons low scorer was Sam Jones.
The qualifiers for the boy’s competition included Wiley Whitmore, Sam Jones, Sammy Hill, and Cannon Craig. Lady qualifiers were Mackie Hearn, Mary Grace AufderHeide, Kara Holzhauer, and Ivy Bogy.
On Thursday at the Stuttgart Country Club they held the Ryder Cup. This is a tournament between Stuttgart Ricebirds and DeWitt Dragons.
After 18 holes it was like a repeat from the tournament in DeWitt. The Boys DeWitt Dragons won the Ryder Cup for boys. The Stuttgart Ricebirdettes came away with the Girls Ryder Cup.
Beckett Jessup chipped in for the Ricebirds to force a sudden death, which had Sammy Hill over Bradley Benton for the Dragons.
