Dorothy Deane Word Currie | 1921-2024

Dorothy Deane Word Currie, age 103, died September 3, 2024. She was born January 16, 1921, in St. Charles, AR to Dr. James T. and Jesse Murray Word. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. For 32 years, she was on the staff at the DeWitt Public Library, retiring at 85. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Charles Reuben Currie; her son John Word Currie; her daughter Mary Ann Currie Cook; her son-in-law Edwin A. Lepine; her parents, one brother, and three sisters. 

She is survived by her twin daughters Jean Currie Dabbs (Sid) and Joyce Currie Lepine (Charles); her son-in-law Dr. G. All Cook (Nancy); her daughter-in-law Sue Currie; and a handful of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
