Atha Marie Ross Smith

Atha Marie Ross Smith 76 of Gillett, Arkansas died April 14, 2024 at U.A.M.S Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas with her family by her side.   Born February 15, 1948.  She was the daughter of the late John Henry Ross and Bertha Marie Fitzgerrell.

Atha was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in DeWitt, Arkansas under the leadership of Bobby Mcpherson and the late Steve Mannis.

Atha was educated in the Gillett Public School System. Worked for Belleville Shoe Factory in DeWitt, Arkansas, she was also a housewife.

Atha loved the outdoors, spending time with her family but most of all playing with the grandchildren.

Atha was preceded in death by her husband; Cecil Edward Smith Sr. (1) daughter; Brenda Kay Saffell, her parents; John Henry and Bertha Marie Ross, 

Atha leaves to cherish her memories; (6) Daughters; Diane (Virgil) Turner of Star City, Arkansas, Glenda Griffie of Gillett, Arkansas, Susan Grammer, Rebecca(Randy) Briggs all of DeWitt, Arkansas and April(Keith) Marks of Hot Springs, Arkansas , (1) Son; Cecil (Raelynn) Smith Jr. of DeWitt, Arkansas, Brother; Thomas(Margie) Ross Gillett, Arkansas, Sister; Mary Lou Roach of Pangburn, Arkansas, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, special neice; Vernice Brinton, a host of neices, nephews, other relatives and friends to cherish her memories.
