Gertrude “Gertie” L. Rogers

Our precious aunt, Gertrude “Gertie” L. Rogers, 99, was called to her heavenly reward on December 9, 2023. Gertie was born to William and Caroline (Stelzer) Richter on November 28, 1924. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald; four brothers, Ruben, Teddy, Elmer and Bruno Richter; and a sister, Stella Cook. She is survived by nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Gertie was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gillett, Arkansas, and was actively involved in Dorcas Circle, LWML, and the quilting group. She retired as the bookkeeper for Arkansas Petroleum, Inc. She also worked as the bookkeeper for the family businesses, Richter Farms, Inc. and Richter Tractor Company, Inc.

She was a very social lady and enjoyed many activities in her church and community. She loved to travel and made numerous trips to visit friends and family. She was blessed with a great memory for all the history of the family and was always eager to share that history.

We thank the staff at Stonebridge Cabot Assisted Living and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for all the love and care they showed her.
