Sherry Ann Boyd

January 03, 2024

Sherry Ann Boyd, 68, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 23rd. She was surrounded by loved ones at home after a long fight with a kidney disease and suffering through many recent strokes.

Sherry was born in Stuttgart on April 1, 1955, to her parents Hershall Harding McIntosh and Dencie Weatherly McIntosh. She grew up in Almyra and attended high school in DeWitt where she met her future husband of 51 years, James Burley Boyd. They married on June 3, 1972.

Over the years she enjoyed helping others, taking care of animals, and living on the farm with the love of her life. She loved horses and large breed dogs, digging in her flowerbed, fishing, traveling the United States, curling up in her chair with a good book or word puzzle, and watching The Incredible Dr. Pol. Most importantly, she enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Walter Eugene McIntosh.

She is survived by her husband Jimmy, son Josh Boyd (Summer) of Cave Springs, daughter Haley Boyd (Jeremy) of Almyra, and four grandchildren Olivia Boyd, Jaxon Ward, Mason Boyd, and Ava Ward. Sherry is also survived by three sisters Karen Pryor (Larry) of Little Rock, Rose Mary Gordon (Donnie) of Star City, and Debbie Murphy (Curtis) of DeWitt. She is also survived by numerous friends and relatives including her dearest of friends: Kenneth and Diana Graves.

Funeral services were December 27 at DeWitt Methodist Church with the burial following at DeWitt Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to DeWitt Methodist Church in DeWitt or DeWitt Cemetery Association. www.essexfuneralhome.com
