Lola Jean Closson

Lola Jean Closson, 80, passed away October 22, 2023. She was born May 21, 1943, in St. Charles to Edward Henery Shadwick and Iva Lee Shadwick.

She married William James Closson on October 28, 1962. Lola was a loveable and caring mother who enjoyed reading a good book, fishing, and making her pear preserves. She was such a wonderful cook. She was also a caregiver and volunteered at Dana’s House.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Iva Shadwick; two daughters, Debra Sue Closson and Pamela Jean Closson; four brothers, Junior Shadwick, Melvin Shadwick, Dale Shadwick, and Elemer Shadwick; and four sisters, Edna May Pool, Wanda Kloss, Carolyn Shadwick, and Kathy Jones.

She is survived by one daughter, Tammy Campbell (Wendell); one granddaughter, Jessica Closson; two great-grandsons, Harley Edwards and Triston McDaniel; one sister, Barbara Shadwick; and one brothers, Gary Shadwick of DeWitt; and lots of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
