Find Comfort with Maranatha Minis “Ponies with a Purpose”

October 25, 2023

In Arkansas County it seems as though with each new day the terrible Cancer word is heard and emotions run rampant for those who have been diagnosed. Knowing that they must face the horrible disease, it takes a toll on a person’s mind and emotions. A warm fuzzy blanket, a cup of coffee, or a favorite book are oftentimes needed items during those troubling times, as they provide a bit of comfort while patients sit in the chair during their treatments. Sometime spending time with family and friends or a pet offers the best comfort.

Whatever it may be, having something to help ease the burden or just lift a person’s spirits is important to all and that’s just what Maranatha Mini’s “Ponies with a Purpose” hopes to do during the Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

“Ponies are extremely healing,” stated Sharon Partain, owner of Maranatha Mini’s. “We show up for people with a need. There’s not an event we can’t do.”

While speaking with Partain, it was clear that passion drives her to spread joy to all who come in contact with her beautiful miniature ponies. “If a pony has a purpose, you have a purpose,” she stated. Partain travels across the state with ponies such as Ward who stands at 33” tall. At a previous event, Ward was dressed like a bunny which provided the perfect photo opportunity for all!

Hosted by Arkansas County Night of Hope, the Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 28, from 9am – 4pm with Trunk or Treat at 5:30 pm, at 203 N. Jackson Street, DeWitt. During the festival, many vendors will be set up selling a variety of items such as homemade sweets, jewelry, Scentsy, and much more. There will be games for kids to play to win prizes, popcorn, and a photo area to take pictures with the miniature ponies.

“Our ponies will leave you filled with joy and with a smile on your face. They are extremely healing and knowing that someone finds comfort in petting the ponies makes it all worth it!” stated Partain. No matter what you may be going through, whether it’s cancer treatments, the loss of a loved one, or just every day battles, spending time with the ponies is sure to ease your mind!

Be sure to stop by and see the ponies on Saturday! You’ll be glad you did! Then, bring your kiddos dressed in their Halloween costumes for the Trunk or Treat!
