Michael Lee Padgett

Michael Lee Padgett of Ethel, Arkansas, was born on March 29, 1956, and was promoted to Heaven on November 13, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the age of 66. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James Alfred “Hot” Padgett and Lois Irene Murphy Padgett. He is survived by his children, Sara Padgett Heathcott (Adam) of Swinney Switch, Texas and Seth Padgett of Little Rock, Arkansas and by three siblings, James Edward Padgett (Robin), Jeff Padgett (Kim), and Carolyn Padgett Knowlton (Ron), all of Ethel, Arkansas and six nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends.

Mike was a member of Belleview Baptist Church in Ethel from his youth. He graduated St. Charles High School in 1974 and then began farming on the family farm with his Dad, Leo Padgett, James Edward Padgett, and Ron Knowlton for approximately 25 years.

Mike lived at Crestpark Nursing Home in DeWitt for the last three years of his life and was lovingly cared for by the entire staff. The whole staff knew that he loved two things the most........his smoke breaks and Dr. Peppers! When we fell behind in keeping his room refrigerator filled with his favorite drink, the staff would often replenish it themselves. In this and many other ways, they tenderly cared for Mike as they would have their own family member. Because he felt so loved at Crestpark, these years were some of the happiest of his life. We, his family, will always feel indebted to the special people at Crestpark who have been called into this ministry of caring for the elderly and disabled of our society. We thank God for all the help Crestpark’s staff gave us and ask His richest blessings on them all.
