Hite Thomas “Tom” Bowlby

Hite Thomas “Tom” Bowlby, 79 of Dumas, Arkansas, a faithful and devoted servant was called to his heavenly home on October 27, 2022, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born August 28, 1943, in DeWitt, Arkansas, the fifth son born to the late Samuel Anthony Bowlby and Thelma Oral MacDonald Bowlby. His parents and four brothers David, Sam, JR, Paul, and Frank Bowlby, all preceded him in death.

Tom graduated from DeWitt High School and Mid-South Christian College in Memphis, Tennessee. He was member and minister at Dark Corner Christian Church for almost 40 years, faithful to his congregation, and Bradley Christian Service Camp. He was a sport enthusiast and enjoyed going to games at home and away games. UAM basketball fans plan to honor him this season by using some of his infamous cheers that he directed to the officials at each game. Tom touched many lives during his life, with his love of God and lead by example.

Survivors are his sister Beth Nelsen of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Tom was a loving uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 10:00 am-11:00am on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Dark Corner Christian Church with services following at 11:00am, Rev. DeWayne Hornbeck officiating and burial in Dark Corner Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Brother Tom to Bradley Christian Service Camp, 2575 State Hwy 83 North, Dumas, Arkansas 71639. “God Is Good”.
