Mayor Encourages Residents to Watch Weather Closely

DeWitt Mayor Jimmy Black would like to encourage all residents to pay attention to the weather on the local television or radio with the local area being under watch for severe storms late Friday night into early Saturday morning.

Mayor Black told us that two weeks ago a crew was in DeWitt assessing the storm sirens and after the assessment the city had to purchase a new radio system in order for the sirens to work properly.

At this time, the radio system has not arrived and Mayor Black wants the residents to be extra cautious with the incoming weather. He also encourages citizens to sign up for Code Red if they have not already done so.

Mayor Black stated "We will get the storm sirens up and running as quickly as possible."
