Local Business Catches Fire in the Early Morning Hours

News no small town wants to hear is a local business forever gone. Not only has the owner lost years of dedication and hard work, but in the midst of a global pandemic and hard times, many are now without jobs due to an early morning fire at The Catfish Shack on South Whitehead Drive in DeWitt.

According to local law enforcement, the first call came in around 12:40 a.m. on Monday, January 11th, 2021. Local officers and DeWitt Fire Department responded with an attempt to extinguish and contain the fire without success.
