Glen Stephen "Steve" Martin

Glen Stephen "Steve" Martin, passed away on November 17, 2022, at DeWitt City Hospital.  He was known to many friends, nieces, and nephews as Bud.  He was born November 21, 1945, in Stuttgart to Glen Martin and Frances Amberlene Childers Martin Cottey.

Steve retired from Kroger after working there for 47 years and holding just about every position in the store.  He also retired from the Army/Army National Guard.  Steve was a member of First United Methodist Church in DeWitt, American Legion Post 158, and 40-8.  He was a member and past president of the DeWitt Lions Club.  Steve loved to fish and go camping and squirrel hunting at Smokehouse Hill.  

Steve loved his family very much and was active with Chuck in anything that Chuck did.   He coached Little League/Pony League baseball also.

Before he and Lana married, he used to race his '64 Ford Falcon at Stuttgart -Carlisle Racetrack.  He loved racing every Sunday.  When they got married, he couldn't afford both so he gave up racing and kept Lana!

  He was preceded in death by his parents Frances and Lynn Cottey and father Glen Martin; and sister Phyllis Froman.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Lana Howard Martin; son Chuck Martin (Paige) of Hot Springs, two granddaughters Natalie and Ashley Martin; brothers Don Cottey (Katherine) of Tucson, AZ, Kenneth Martin (Nikki) of Biloxi, MS, and Frankie Martin (Jerri) of DeWitt; and sister Glenda Young (Steve) of Bisco; and many nieces and nephews.  He loved his family very much.

Visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. on November 28 at First United Methodist Church with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
